Teen Programs

From character development to fitness and recreation, Joint Base Andrews Youth Programs offers a wide variety of challenging, informational and fun activities for its teen members.

Teens have their own upper loft area inside the Youth Center that allows for them to socialize with friends do homework, express their creativity through digital arts programs or play games. There is a big screen TV access to video and table games. In the teen/Keystone meeting lounge there is a surround sound home movie theatre entertainment. There are high tech computer lab with Apple computer and Apple TV. There are pool tables, foosball and air hockey. The Youth Center also has an indoor and outdoor basketball court for those who want to show of their skills.

Programs and specialized incentives are available that offer resources for teens for jobs, college information, scholarships and volunteering. As an affiliate with the national organization Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and part of the Air Forces Services community, the Youth Center is available to present a variety of diversified programming that has many benefits to its teen members. There are programs that focus on Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and Life Skills, the Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

Youth Employment Skills (Y.E.S)

Need to earn extra cash over the summer. There is a wealth of job opportunities for teen’s ages 16-19 years of age and not only at the local fast food chains. Positions on Andrews are hired through the Human Resources Office or at the AAFES office. The Youth Center carries job applications for them and for local fast food restaurants. Job application for the immediate community can be found on these web sites.
