The Military & Family Support Center assists individuals with researching and reaching their career goals. We provide employment skills training and resources to prepare you for your job search with resume writing, local job market information, and so much more! We can help you learn about the MD, VA and Washington DC local area, state and federal job markets, and how to find job sources if you are PCSing, retiring or separating. Open to all DoD ID card holders, including DoD civilians and their family members offers support to individuals in achieving short and long-term employment, by referring for education/training, and obtaining career goals in the private and public sectors. Tips for Federal Employment: Using the USAJOBS website may seem overwhelming at times. Learn to navigate the site, create and manage your account, and analyze job announcements. Receive tips on how to create a federal resume. Facilitated virtually via Zoom.
Resume Development 101: Workshop teaches attendees how to write an effective and competitive private sector resume. Discusses resume components, resume types and how to organize your experience in order to highlight your skills. Facilitated virtually via Zoom.
Spouse Employment Workshops: Overview of MSEP, mySECO, and other employment programs to support military spouses in their job search. Spouse preference program and Spouse Reimbursement for re-licensure / re-certification.
Employer Information Session: These session give local, national and global employers the opportunity to share information about working with their company such as, recruiting methods, how to apply, credentialing and interviewing skills.

Priority Placement Program: The Priority Placement Program (PPP) allows you to claim military spouse preference for CONUS federal jobs. You will need to provide a copy of the orders bringing you and your spouse to that installation as well as your marriage certificate. At that point, you can chose the preference when you apply for federal jobs.
Reimbursement for Re-Licensure:
Who’s eligible? Military spouses of airmen of any rank who moved across state lines – including Alaska and Hawaii – due to a PCS under accompanied orders, and who wish to pursue the same licensure or certification in their new location.
What can get reimbursed? The Air Force defines “qualified relicensing costs” as any required exam costs or registration fees set by the new state so the spouse can keep working in their current profession. You can receive up to $1,000 in reimbursement per move.
What documents do you need? You’ll need:
Copy of PCS/PCA orders
Copy of spouse’s previous state occupational license or certification
Paid receipt showing the new state’s re-licensure fees
What is the reimbursement process? Spouses should apply for reimbursement after you have your new state’s license or certification. Bring the documentation to your local servicing finance office. There, staff can walk you through the other required forms.
MILITARY SPOUSE LICENSE RECOGNITION OPTIONS
The Military Spouse Employment Partnership is a targeted recruitment and employment solution for spouses and companies that: Connects corporate and non-profit organizations with military spouses representing ALL Military Services. Provides human resource managers with recruitment solutions – military spouses.
The Transition Employment Assistance for Military Spouses (TEAMS) workshops are focused on helping military spouses plan and prepare for their job search. All classes are free and open to all transitioning military spouses as they pursue their own future employment goals.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program, Toyota, and Blue Star Families introduced Career Spark, a first-of-its-kind online tool that gives military spouses the resume they need to start and maintain a meaningful career. Career Spark walks military spouses through developing a resume based on their unique skills. Once completed, spouses have the option to make their resumes searchable to thousands of employers nationwide looking for qualified veteran and military spouse candidates.
