The Spouse Orientation Program “Heart Link” is designed to strengthen military families and enhance mission readiness. The overall objective is to increase retention of members in the Air Force by increasing spouse awareness of the Air Force mission, customs, traditions, protocol, and support resources and services available to them. Spouses will be presented with a Heart Link coin during graduation.
Mission

Objective

Heart Link Spouse Orientation
Joint Base Andrews Heart Link “Spouse Orientation” is open to new military spouses married to an Air Force member for 5 years or less and spouses new to the Joint Base Andrews; however, all spouses from the surrounding installations are welcomed to attend. This fun-filled interactive orientation is provided on a virtual platform or in-person environment with a variety of activities during the day. Spouses will have the opportunity to meet with the 316th Wing Commander, Community partners and network with other spouses while learning about programs and services available for you and your family. Additionally, included in the Heart Link “Spouse Orientation” is a Spouse Windshield Tour of Joint Base Andrews. Heart Link is offered on a quarterly basis, at a minimum, or as requested by installation leadership IAW AFI 36-3009.
The Heart Link program is sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society through their Community Programs that provide funding for many quality of life programs.
